Can a FoodMarble Device Be Shared by More Than One Person?

FoodMarble devices are intended for personal use, and you’ll get the best experience when one device is dedicated to a single user. Let us explain why.

🔋 Device longevity

  • FoodMarble devices were designed with one user per device in mind.
  • Each device has safe usage guidelines (e.g., no more than 10 breath tests in a 24-hour period).
  • Sharing may inadvertently increase the number of tests per day, which can shorten the device’s lifespan.

📊 Personalised tracking and accuracy of insights

  • The app is designed to help build your personal profile by combining your breath readings with your diet, sleep, stress, and symptoms.
  • If sticking to the safe usage guidelines, sharing a device reduces the number of tests available per person, making it harder to build up as much data and spot meaningful trends in your digestive health.

🧼 Hygiene and safety

  • While the removable mouthpiece can be cleaned, sharing still introduces hygiene concerns.
  • The body of the device must always be kept dry and away from cleaning products — so it cannot be fully sterilised.
  • Mouthpieces should only be wiped clean (avoid alcohol wipes, as alcohol can damage the sensitive sensors).

In summary: FoodMarble devices are most effective — and safest — when used by one person only. This ensures you get accurate results, reliable insights, and the best possible experience with your device.
