Can FoodMarble Diagnose Digestive Problems?

FoodMarble devices are not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Instead, you can think of your FoodMarble as an activity tracker for your gut.

What FoodMarble does

Your device helps you understand how your body responds to the foods you eat. By tracking fermentation levels over time, you’ll be able to:

  • Identify which foods are most compatible with your unique digestive system
  • Spot patterns in your symptoms
  • Gain insights to help guide everyday food choices

Through the FoodMarble program, you can also complete structured Food Intolerance Tests for four common FODMAPs:

  • Lactose
  • Fructose
  • Sorbitol
  • Inulin

These tests can help you uncover whether certain carbohydrates are contributing to your digestive symptoms.

For SIBO testing and formal diagnosis

If you suspect a more complex condition, such as SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), FoodMarble can still play a role.

For formal testing and diagnosis, you should work with a doctor, ideally in partnership with FoodMarble Healthcare. Medical guidance is essential if you suspect an underlying condition, and your FoodMarble device can then be used as a supportive tool to help track your progress.

All you need to do is contact our Healthcare team - healthcare@foodmarble.com - and they will guide you on the next steps, connecting you with a qualified professional who can diagnose and assist in the treatment of SIBO.

Takeaway:

FoodMarble empowers you with insights into your digestion — like a fitness tracker for your gut — while your doctor is there to help identify and manage any medical conditions. Used together, they can give you a clearer picture of your digestive health.
