Can I Test My Response to Alcohol with FoodMarble?

No — FoodMarble devices should not be used after consuming alcohol.

Alcohol on the breath can interfere with the sensitive sensors inside your device, leading to inaccurate results. For this reason, we strongly advise against doing breath tests after drinking alcohol.

Alcohol and digestive symptoms

Alcohol itself can also be a trigger for digestive discomfort. Many people with sensitive digestion notice symptoms such as bloating, changes in bowel habits, or abdominal discomfort after drinking. In addition, mixers in alcoholic drinks can sometimes contain FODMAPs, which may further contribute to symptoms.

What you can do instead

  • Use the FoodMarble app to log your alcohol consumption alongside your meals, symptoms, sleep, and stress.
  • This way, you can still spot patterns and understand whether alcohol (or specific types of drinks) are linked to changes in your gut comfort.

In summary: FoodMarble devices are not suitable for testing after alcohol consumption, and alcohol itself may not be the best choice if you experience bothersome digestive symptoms. If you’re unsure or concerned, it’s always best to speak with your healthcare provider.
