How do I use the Food Intolerance Kit?

The FoodMarble Program & Your Testing Kit

The Food Intolerance Kit includes four FODMAP test packs to help you understand your digestion.

Important: A FoodMarble device is required to complete the tests.

You’ll test your tolerance to four hard-to-digest food components — lactose, fructose, sorbitol, and inulin — using your FoodMarble device and the Food Intolerance Kit.

You’ll also have access to the full guided FoodMarble Program, which you can start in the app once your order is delivered.

How to Start the FoodMarble Program

  1. Open the FoodMarble app
  2. Click Profile
  3. Select FoodMarble Program
  4. Tap Start Plan
  5. Follow the in-app guidance

The program is divided into three stages: Baseline, Reset, and Discovery. Each stage is important for understanding your gut and improving your digestive health.

Baseline

Purpose: Understand what “normal” looks like for your digestion without changing your diet.

During Baseline:

  • Eat your normal, everyday meals
  • Get familiar with your FoodMarble device
  • Track your digestion day to day in the app

Why it matters: Baseline creates a personal reference point. Later, during Discovery, you’ll be able to compare your results against your Baseline data to see what triggers symptoms.

Reset

Purpose: Prepare your gut for Discovery and reduce symptoms caused by FODMAPs.

During Reset:

  • Reduce hard-to-digest FODMAPs to calm your digestion
  • Continue logging meals, symptoms, stress, sleep, and breath scores

Duration: Usually around one week, but move at your own pace. If you’ve already been following a low FODMAP diet, you may progress faster.

Tip: Check the Recipes section in your app for tasty, low-FODMAP inspiration.

By the end of Reset, your gut will be ready, and your logs will be consistent, creating a strong foundation for Discovery.

Discovery

Purpose: Test individual FODMAPs to see how your gut reacts.

During Discovery:

  • Test one FODMAP at a time on a calm morning
  • Follow the preparation protocols, including a minimum 12-hour fast and fasting during testing (water only)
  • Leave one week between tests, or at least 3–4 days to allow your body to reset
  • Keep logging meals, symptoms, stress, sleep, and breath scores throughout

Outcome: Your Digestive Profile and Food Library update after each test, helping you identify which foods work best for your gut and navigate meal times with more confidence.
