What does RDA mean in the app?
Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA of FODMAPs)
The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of FODMAPs feature helps you track your daily FODMAP intake based on the meals you log in the FoodMarble app. It gives you a clear picture of your cumulative daily FODMAP intake, so you can make smarter dietary choices and better understand your personal triggers.
How It Works
- Log your meals in the FoodMarble app.
- The app calculates the FODMAP content of each food item.
- Your daily totals are compared against reference RDA levels for each FODMAP (fructose, lactose, sorbitol, inulin, etc.).
- Once you’ve completed the FoodMarble program and all 4 Food Intolerance Tests, these comparisons become personalized to your tolerance levels.
- The app shows how close you are to your daily limit, helping you identify when your intake may be exceeding your tolerance.
Why It’s Useful
- Connect meals with symptoms: See if a high FODMAP load correlates with digestive issues.
- Balance your diet: Spread out FODMAP intake rather than overloading in a single meal or day.
- Support personal discovery: Over time, learn which FODMAPs and amounts are more likely to trigger symptoms for you, based on both reference levels and your personal results.
In short: The RDA feature helps you monitor your daily FODMAP intake, supporting smarter choices, and a better understanding of your digestive triggers. The feature evolves from general reference comparisons to a personalized guide once your FoodMarble program and tests are complete.
